RADIOGRAPH OF A FAMILY (2020) dir. Firouzeh Khosrovani

The Big stage of the Cultural Center Tivat, Luke Tomanovića 4

In collaboration with Cultural Center Tivat

A love story, two different beliefs, a family in the turmoil of Iran’s modern history.

I am the product of Iran’s struggle between secularism and Islamic ideology. My parents’ love story takes us from the Shah era to the Islamic Revolution and the hardships during the Iran-Iraq War, up to the present day – all in our home in Tehran. In my childhood, I was constantly forced to choose between my parents; each day, I endured imposition from one side and acceptance from the other.

Winner of the IDFA Award for Best Feature-Length Documentary in 2020, as well as Best Film at MakeDox Creative Documentary Film Festival, Movies That Matter Award - Special Mention at ZagrebDox and Amnesty International Award at the IndieLisboa International Independent Film Festival, will be screened at the Big stage of Cultural Centre Tivat in the presence of the directress Firouzeh Khosrovani.

Firouzeh's debut film, Life Train (2004), is a documentary on the ‘play’ therapy provided for the traumatized children of the earthquake in Bam.

In 2007, she directed Rough Cut, a film about mutilated plastic mannequins in the shop windows of Tehran, which won thirteen international film festival awards.

Her last work, Fest of Duty, follows two adolescent girls as they transition into adulthood, eight years after their official Fest of Duty. The film won the OXFAM award at

IDFA in 2014.

EPICENTRO (2020) dir. Hubert Sauper

Amphitheater of the Luštica Bay

Alternative location in case of bad weather conditions: The Big stage of the Cultural Center Tivat, Luke Tomanovića 4

In collaboration with Luštica Bay and Cultural Center Tivat

From world-renowned filmmaker Hubert Sauper — director of Sundance winner WE COME AS FRIENDS and the Oscar®-nominated DARWIN’S NIGHTMARE — comes EPICENTRO, an immersive and metaphorical portrait of post-colonial, «utopian» Cuba, where the 1898 explosion of the USS Maine still resonates. This Big Bang ended Spanish colonial dominance in the Americas and ushered in the era of the American Empire. At the same time and place, a powerful tool of conquest was born: cinema as propaganda.

In EPICENTRO, Sauper explores a century of interventionism and myth-making together with the extraordinary people of Havana – particularly its children, who he calls «young prophets» – to interrogate time, imperialism, and cinema itself.

Winner of the World Cinema - Documentary award at Sundance 2020 and Vienna Film Award for Best Austrian film at Vienalle 2020, Epicentro will be screened under the stars in the beautiful Amphitheater of the Luštica Bay in presence of the director Hubert Sauper.

Sauper’s socio-political and poetic films have been winning over 50 major international prizes, among them the awards at Venice Film Festival, Berlinale, Sundance, NY, the French (César), Austrian and European Academy Award. His documentary DARWIN’S NIGHTMARE (2004) was nominated for an Oscar in the category Best documentary in 2006.

As an actor he played in several shorts and two feature-length films: IN THE CIRCLE OF THE IRIS (Dir. Peter Patzak, with Philippe Léotard) and BLUE DISTANCE (Dir. Peter Schreiner).
