CIRCLE Fiction Orbit - Extended call for projects

Updated: Jul 7, 2023

CIRCLE is extending the deadline to apply for CIRCLE Fiction Orbit, our new initiative for women - identifying fiction filmmakers. The new deadline is July 18th, 2023.

About CIRCLE Fiction Orbit

CIRCLE Fiction Orbit is an intensive one week workshop open to women-identifying directors and/or producers , who are developing their second or third fiction feature films.

Ideal candidates for CIRCLE Fiction Orbit are women-identifying directors making their second or third feature-length film. This film should be in development with a producer attached. Ideally, they have already directed a fiction feature length film, however, if they have directed a feature-length documentary that has premiered at an A-List festival or had wide international circulation, we would accept feature debuts. If the project is being produced by a woman, the director and producer are welcome to attend as a duo. CIRCLE Fiction Orbit is scheduled to take place from November 20 - 26 2023 in Montenegro. The workshop will take a comprehensive look at the development of the films, covering the personal, creative and business elements to help them reach their full potential. We are looking for 6-8 woman-identifying (second or third-time) directors with strong feature-film projects in development to apply.

CIRCLE fosters project development, but also strongly focuses on knowledge-sharing and building professional skills, by connecting participants of the programme with the rest of the film industry and giving them access to world-renowned mentors.

Conditions:

Directors can participate alone or together with the producer. Only projects with a producer attached are eligible. Both director and producer should have at least one feature film done.

Fee and Scholarship:

The participation fee (1600€ per person) covers mentorship, accommodation and meals, as well as a variety of offers by our partners.

CIRCLE may allocate up to two scholarships (covering 50% of the tuition fee) for participants from low capacity countries in need.

We look forward to reading your projects!

Good luck!
